About Me

Jen "NitroJen" Abundez emerged from the womb laughing and was destined for greatness. Aware of her comedic brilliance at a young age, she decided to debut her skills when the world needed stomach-hurting laughter. She has spent the past few years acting like a normal person by dueling wizards, slaying dragons, taking over the world and training in the theatre arts. Knowing that the world has become too serious, she has embarked on her quest to bring laughter to the people. She just graduated from SDSU where she majored in Awesomeness and Theatre Arts. Expect her autobiographical movie "Jen Defines Awesome" to hit theaters in summer 2012.

A More Professional Bio:
Jen Abundez found a passion for acting at a young age. She would memorize movies, particularly Disney movies, make costumes from anything she could find in her house, and then act them out in her living room. She did her first play—Rumplestilkson—when she was in 5th grade and it was at her first curtain call that she knew she needed to do this for the rest of her life. She continued doing some plays as well as performing in her school show choirs and choirs until she graduated from high school. She entered San Diego State University in the Fall 2006 as a Theatre major. There she met many incredibly-talented people and devoured knowledge of all things theatre. In July 2008 she saw an audition notice for a new comedy troupe called Roar Theatre. Although she had no training with improv or comedy she decided to give it a shot. Luckily she got in. There she learned how to hone her comedic skills and gained self-confidence but most importantly she made many lifelong friends. In the summer of 2009 she took a hiatus to attend the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England so she could train in Shakespearian and classical acting. In the fall she returned to Roar Theatre where she continued performing as well as teaching acting to the rest of the troupe. In November 2011 she and a few Roariors decided that after a few months of discussing an awesome idea for an internet sketch comedy series, they finally formed their sketch group The Flying Friendship Five to make the idea a reality.
